Growing Moringa

Our farm is located in the city of Waianae, nestled in a beautiful valley on the west side of Oahu and 100% of our product is grown here. We are a small, family-owned and run farm that solely focuses on natural farming techniques. This technique uses absolutely no pesticides or herbicides. Instead, it fosters and relies a natural ecosystem of micro-organisms to maintain a nutritious growing environment. We ferment natural ingredients like rice, sugar, fruit, and plants and incorporate that into the ground to encourage the growth of micro-organisms. These micro-organisms are the key to the fertile growing environment and the source of our Moringa’s potent health benefits.

Moringa Powder

Once mature, we hand-pick the best branches from our trees. These branches are rinsed in cold water, dried, and hung in bundles to dry in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment for 3 days. Over those three days, the bunches are regularly adjusted to make sure that all branches are exposed to air to dry evenly. On the third day, the dried leaves are then pulled from the stems and organized into piles. Over the next few days, these piles are regularly sifted through to ensure consistent drying and to sort out the stems to ensure a pure final product. After about a week, the dried leaves are ground in small batches taking care to keep the temperature throughout the process at a minimum. Heat is kept to a minimum throughout the entire process to preserve the microorganisms and enzymes in the product, the source of the our Moringa’s potency. The powder is then hand-pressed into plant-based capsules and packaged for sale. This may not be the most scalable process, but we strongly believe in quality over quantity. Our hands-on approach ensures that we create small batches of extremely high quality product.

Moringa Oil

Moringa oil is made from the seeds of the plant. We remove and shell the seeds, then dry them in our temperature and humidity controlled environment for a day. We press the seeds in small batches, making sure to eliminate any contaminants by sterilizing the press for each use, discarding the initial oil from each press, and leveraging a system of strainers to catch any particulates. Moringa oil has many of the benefits of the leaves, in a concentrated form that can be taken orally or topically.

Pork

We also use Natural Farming methods to raise pigs, and we’re now one of the largest pork producers on the island. We feed our pigs a diet of 100% fruit and vegetables, and are the only farm that has eliminated the use of antibiotics, vaccines, steroids and farrowing crates. Our pork is used by some of the top restaurants on the island. You can also find our pork in island grocery stores and can buy whole pigs directly from us.

Beyond Moringa

In addition to Moringa and pork, we farm other crops using Natural Farming. We grow small amounts of buddha hand, dragon fruit, papaya, mango, and bitter melon, and are constantly experimenting with new produce.
